  Even though this would be the easiest convenience store for me to use I avoid it whenever possible. The same man works the register most nights--probably the owner. He always has some sports game playing full blast on a large screen LCD TV. Every time--and I mean EVERY time--I pay for my purchase and receive my change I say "Thank You!" Not once has he said thank you, you're welcome, or even so much as even grunted back at me. I've tried being nicer each time, as a sort of challenge to see if I can elicit some sort of response from him. He just seems to get more sour each time. If you need a convenience store my recommendation is to walk the extra block to the corner of Judah St. and 9th Ave. The owners of the store on that corner are friendly and courteous. Quick with a "Thank You" and "You're Welcome!" Plus they have a selection beers and soft drinks that better reflect the tastes of San Francisco. If it would stock the peanut butter M&Ms that I like so much I'd never need to visit the unpleasant Stand-Bi.

  This is a great little store. You can still buy the extra large sodas for 99 cents & they also sell the small boxes of "Mike & Ike" candy for 25 cents each. Stores with reasonable prices like these are far and few between in San Francisco.
